Kseng’s 2 MW Single-Axis Tracker: Turning an Italian Farm into a 24-hour Sun Factory
Why Tracking Makes Sense on a Working Farm
Traditional ground-mount arrays cast a static shadow and compete with crops for light.
Kseng’s single-axis rows rotate 120 ° East-West, following the sun and letting diffuse light reach the soil in the early morning and late afternoon.

Advantages of Single-Axis Solar Tracking Systems (plain-language, farm-ready)
1.More kilowatt-hours per acre
Panels follow the sun from sunrise to sunset → 18-30 % extra energy versus fixed-tilt on the same patch of land.
2.Higher peak-power density
Output stays near name-plate capacity for 4-5 hours instead of 2-3, so inverters and cables are used more efficiently.
3.Lower Levelised Cost of Energy (LCOE)
The tracker adds ~5-7 % to upfront cost but cuts LCOE by 8-12 % because every kWh is cheaper to produce.
4.Land-neutral farming
Rows rotate, letting light slip through morning and evening; crop yield loss is typically <5 % and often zero for shade-tolerant plants.
